Yesterday I attended the Northeast Youth & Family Services Leadership Luncheon. It was a great opportunity to learn about all of the programs and services NYFS offers to our community. The keynote speaker, Elizabeth Kneebone from the Brookings Institution, spoke about the rising poverty rates in the suburbs, including data specific to the Twin Cities metro suburbs. I encourage you to visit the Confronting Suburban Poverty to see the data and some of the strategies and ideas to address the problem: http://confrontingsuburbanpoverty.org
Roseville City Council Member Jason Etten was our table host. It was a great event!
