About Jamie

Who I Am

I have lived in Roseville with my husband Gabe for 11 years. We have two amazing kids: Our daughter is two and our son just started kindergarten in the Roseville Area School District. Gabe is the Clinical Director at a mental health facility. Our family attends Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Roseville, where we volunteer with our congregation’s “Bountiful Backpacks” hunger relief project.

I grew up in northern Minnesota and I am a Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe descendant. I spent my childhood playing in the woods, learning about fishing, hunting and farming from my family. I still hunt, fish and harvest wild rice “up north” with my family on a regular basis.

I attended Cass Lake-Bena public schools until leaving for college. I then earned a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Minnesota. After college, I served a year with AmeriCorps at a youth center that provided free after-school care for kids. I then worked as a Legislative Assistant at the Minnesota House of Representatives. I had the privilege of working with many Representatives from across Minnesota and also worked on the Tax Committee. I later earned my law degree from William Mitchell College of Law.

I currently work as an Assistant Hennepin County Attorney at the Domestic Abuse Service Center. My job entails working with victims of domestic violence, their advocates and law enforcement, and making difficult prosecution decisions. I collaborate daily with these diverse groups of people as we work together towards justice.

What I Stand For

I believe that regular people can work together to achieve positive changes in our communities. I believe in hope, and continuing to work towards a better future for everyone.

I grew up in a politically active family, attending fish fry fundraisers, walking in parades and attending other community events. I was eight years old when Paul Wellstone ran for Senate in 1990 and I saw how politics could inspire and empower people. I believe that politics should be accessible to everyone.

I am a thoughtful, respectful leader who values honesty and authenticity. I believe that every person is important and that every vote is important. With your support, together we can do great things for 42B and Minnesota.

Thank you,
