Tuesday, February 6.  Doors open for registration at 6:00 pm and caucuses will begin at 7:00 pm.

What is a Precinct Caucus?

The DFL Party uses precinct caucuses and conventions to endorse candidates and to debate and set the issues the Party will stand for. The precinct caucus is a meeting for people who live in one precinct to discuss candidates and issues, and to elect delegates to attend the Senate District convention, where they will vote on endorsing candidates for State House, elect delegates to the State Conventions, and other party business.

Who can caucus?

Any 42B resident who will be eligible to vote by election day can caucus. This includes 17-year-olds who will turn 18 by election day on November 6, 2018.

Did you know?

You have the right to take time off work to be at a precinct caucus or political party convention (if you’re a delegate or alternate). You must give your employer ten days’ written notice (See 202A.19, subd.2 and 202A.135).

Do I live in 42B?

Put your address into the Secretary of State’s Caucus Finder and find out. If you’re a 42B resident, it will tell you there!
